Retail media is the biggest digital trend since the appearance of social media. It's all about leveraging customer data and digital platforms to offer targeted advertising opportunities within the retail environment, directly influencing consumer purchasing decisions at the point of sale. Of course, this is something we at Voyado want to offer our customers such as XXL, Apohem, and Kicks.

This role isn't just about coding though; it's about shaping the future of retail media. You'll become a cornerstone in the initiative and have the opportunity to be involved throughout the entire development process.

Whiteboard sessions, close collaboration with partner integrators, and tech discoveries to figure out how to solve retail media challenges are naturally part of your daily tasks in the team. You’ll be working e.g. on architecture, writing code, monitoring, and collaborating with integrations to bring the team’s ideas to life. We do not strive to push out features as fast as possible but balance delivery with a quality mindset, beta testing, and aligning user expectations.

• Development, writing code in Java! ☕️
• Tech discoveries
• Contribute to design discussions, and architectural decisions and make sure our solution is built using best practices
• Ensure progress in the project and facilitate dialogues with our partners

You have a genuine interest in tech, you're motivated by the problem-solving process, and you navigate in a landscape with partners, tech, and dialogues with design and product management with excellence to drive the project forward. We believe important skills to thrive in the team are fearlessness when it comes to navigating the unknown, great communication skills, and a liking for taking new initiatives!

Besides those personal skills, we believe you have the following:

• A college degree or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a comparable industry career
  
• Strong backend development skills ☕️
• Frontend knowledge, JavaScript, and Typescript
• Experience in large-scale systems, an understanding of the performance problems that might be encountered with scaling
• And most importantly, passion for what you do

It would be meritorious if you have some experience integrating third-party APIs and API design.
