Role: Project Manager – Cyber Security

Experience: 7+ years



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead end-to-end network security projects, ensuring scope, budget, and timeline adherence.
  • Develop project roadmaps, work breakdown structures, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage internal teams, vendors, and external partners for seamless project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian security regulations (ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001, PSPF, NIST).
  • Conduct regular project progress reviews, risk assessments, and audits.

Network Security Implementation

  • Oversee the deployment of firewalls, DNS Security solution, F5, Infoblox, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and Zero trust solutions.
  • Implement zero-trust security models, network segmentation, and access control policies.
  • Manage and monitor threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response initiatives.
  • Ensure robust security for cloud-based network infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Assist in penetration testing, red teaming, and security audits for network environments.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Work closely with IT, security, and executive teams to align security objectives with business goals.
  • Engage with government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Manage relationships with security technology vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts, SLAs, and procurement of security tools.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to Australian cybersecurity frameworks (PSPF, ISM, GDPR, APRA CPS 234).
  • Conduct risk assessments and security gap analysis to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and oversee disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP).
  • Prepare incident response plans (IRP) and coordinate cybersecurity drills.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Project Management.
  • 7+ years of experience in network security project management.
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls and DNS Security platforms.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working in TELCO customers
