Position Overview

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer to join our team. The successful

candidate will be responsible for managing and performing work across multiple areas

of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and

administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and

developing Java (Spring Boot) applications and experience in building CI/CD pipelines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business


goals

  • Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and


reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle

  • Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions
  • Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into


the end-to-end business process flow

  • Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve


engineering capability

  • Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies,


tools and solutions in the Bank.

  • Playing a role in mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and a structured approach to converting ideas into concepts, design and code
  • Extensive knowledge of design and architectural patterns
  • Experience in designing and implementing high availability solutions/


microservices

  • Knowledge and experience of agile values, principles and methods (e.g. based on SCRUM or Kanban)
  • Proficiency in implementing microservices with Java and Spring Boot
  • Solid knowledge of Linux, Docker, SQL, Kafka/PubSub
  • Experience with SDLC tools – Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Github
  • Automation mindset and experience in designing and building CI/CD pipelines, ideally Github Actions
  • Knowledge and experience in cloud environments, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knowledge and experience on OWASP, oAuth2, OpenID Connect for


Authentication and Authorization, TLS / SSL

  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Javascript/Typescript on Node.js is preferred.
