Cloud/DevOps Engineer

Location: Limerick, (2/3 days onsite)

TechHeads is currently seeking a Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join our team for a contract role based in Limerick. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to take initiative and drive solutions from start to finish. This role requires strong communication skills, especially in collaborating with diverse global teams, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions with a focus on Azure and Kubernetes.
• Utilize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for both administration and application deployment.
• Implement and manage DevOps processes, using tools such as ArgoCD, Chef, Terraform, Jenkins, and Powershell.
• Troubleshoot functional and non-functional issues related to cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.
• Take ownership of end-to-end solution implementation, from planning through to execution and monitoring.

Essential Technical Skills:

• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS): Strong experience with AKS for both administration and application deployment.
• Cloud Expertise: In-depth experience with Azure. Familiarity with other cloud providers is a plus.
• DevOps Tools: Proficiency with ArgoCD, Chef, Terraform, Jenkins, Powershell, and Groovy.
• Kubernetes Knowledge: Strong technical skills in Kubernetes, including kubectl, ingress, helm, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Development Skills: Experience with software development tools such as git/bitbucket, Java, and Go.

Beneficial Technical Skills:

• SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) experience.
• Linux/Windows administration expertise.
• Remote Desktop Service Administration, including RemoteApp.
• API and web services experience, both in implementation and integration.
• Experience with shop floor manufacturing technologies such as MES, Historian, and SCADA.
