Location: Manchester (Hybrid – up to 2 days a week in the office)

Employment Type: Contract (Inside IR35) - 6 Months

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer for a 6 month engagement with our client. If you have a strong background in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose and thrive in an Agile environment, please click apply for this role to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Write clean, maintainable code following TDD, automated testing, and pair programming best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
• Deploy applications to the Play Store and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Share knowledge, mentor team members, and stay up to date with emerging technologies.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Android application development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Hands-on experience with TDD and writing high-quality, testable code.
• Exposure to Agile Scrum development methodologies.
• Familiarity with Play Store deployment and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Java and XML layouts.
• Previous work on media or streaming applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS Lambda or EC2.
• Experience with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
