The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing cyber security team!

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Detection & Response team and be at the forefront of protecting and defending critical technologies and data.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively monitor and respond to alerts from various security platforms to ensure that incidents are handled according to agreed procedures.
  • Investigate and respond to assigned incidents and tasks promptly to resolve issues within agreed service levels and standards.
  • Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders and teams to monitor, detect, respond and remediate cyber security threats and incidents.
  • Ensure effective incident recovery by accurately documenting information, communicating outcomes, and closing resolved incidents.
  • Provide information and advice relating to cyber security incidents, technology and emerging threats to enable informed decision-making and minimise the impact of cyber security incidents.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to maximise the effectiveness and coverage of security tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build capability and ensure adherence to security best practices.

About you:

  • Technically minded with an ability to tackle complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in cyber security, technology and/or incident response.
  • Experience in monitoring alerts of Web Application Firewalls, Proxies, Cloud Security Posture management tools, Data Loss Prevention and Endpoint Protection would be well regarded.
  • A collaborative team player who can work with technical and non-technical teams to ensure the effective response to cyber security and operational technology incidents.
  • Passionate, keen and motivated to uplift and develop methods and processes to ensure the delivery of highly effective security capabilities.
