Valmet Woodhandling Technology Unit develops, sells and delivers equipment for customers globally. Our projects are both deliveries of new plants as well as rebuilds of existing plants, and the scope of our deliveries vary from single equipment projects to delivery of complete plants on turn-key basis. We are now looking for a Manager, Process and Product, Woodhandling.
Your Main Tasks And Responsibilities
You and your team are working closely together with other project disciplines both in sales and delivery projects. You will directly manage a team of product engineers, and work closely with wide network of sales, project and R&D professionals. In this diverse team you get to coach experienced professionals, teach newcomers and get everyone to work seamlessly together to provide solutions and results.
With your team you will ensure competitive solutions in sales phase as well as high quality engineering in execution phase adhering to budget, quality and schedule. In addition to sales and projects related work, your team will participate in R&D providing engineering support for Woodhandling R&D.
You will develop your team to ensure we have needed networks, competences, shared processes to answer to changing customer needs also in the future - and to get the best out of modern engineering tools and applications. Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships both internally and externally is needed for you to be able to match the most suitable people to different needs, sometimes on short notice.
You will report to the Director, Woodhandling Technology Unit, and be part of Woodhandling Technology Unit management team, participating in annual planning, strategy work and sharing your ideas and support to improve our technology and common ways of working to develop the future of Valmet Woodhandling solutions and the Technology Unit.
Expectations
To succeed in this position, you should have a Master's Degree in suitable technical field and at least 5 years of professional experience from pulp industry technologies and processes. You should have a proven track record of leading projects or project engineering successfully. Experience from international projects would be beneficial and you should have strong English skills, both written and spoken.
You are a customer and goal-oriented person, with a proactive approach to speak up and push your projects forward. It is important, that you can motivate your team to meet both the customer’s expectations and targets. You work systematically, can manage your time and priorities even in quickly changing environment. You must be ready for occasional travelling in Finland and abroad.
