Vice President of Software Engineering

We are currently partnering with a fast-growing Fintech B2B business that is seeking a strategic VP of Engineering to come on board and lead the engineering team while working with complex technical and organisational challenges and fostering a problem-solving mindset within the team.

As VP of Engineering, you’ll apply your expertise in technology and strategic vision to create long-term influence within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an engineering strategy, aligning with business goals and technology vision.
• Lead and mentor a team of 35 engineers (with 4–6 direct reports).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align priorities.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate them into the engineering roadmap.
• Resolve complex technical and organizational challenges, promoting problem-solving within the team.
• Report to the CTO and contribute to high-level strategic decisions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven leadership experience in a senior engineering role, ideally in a scaling environment.
• Background in Finance, Tax, Compliance, or Accounting (preferred).
• Fluency in German and English.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior experience working with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
