Tech Lead - Architect

We are searching for a passionate and skilled developer to be our Tech Lead - Architect and join our management team to help enhance our platforms and deliver exceptional user experiences. We are a small, ambitious, rapidly growing team looking to fill a senior role in our founding team. 

At Horizontal Media, we are re-building well-known marketplaces - autogidas.lt and sena.lt- and developing new e-commerce platforms - tempo.lt.

As a Tech Lead - Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping our technology stack, driving the successful delivery of our product roadmap, and being a key part of decision-making.

Your Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient technical solutions.
• Provide hands-on support by actively coding and contributing to projects when needed.
• Own the architectural decision, ensuring alignment with business goals and long-term scalability.

Product Development:

• Drive technical feasibility discussions and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and marketing, to deliver innovative solutions.
• Help define and evolve the product roadmap, offering technical insights and solutions.

Tech Stack & Tools:

• Evaluate, select, and implement tools, technologies, and frameworks that best serve the company’s needs.
• Champion best coding, testing, and deployment practices to ensure efficient and reliable releases.
• Focus on optimizing performance, reliability, and security across all platforms.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Senior Developer with a solid background in marketplace e-commerce.
• Strong background in software development, web technologies, and online services.
• Familiarity with cloud-based hosting platforms (e.g., AWS) and Linux server administration.
• Strong knowledge of Laravel, PHP, ORM, OOP, and OOD.
• Frontend experience with React.js/Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• API development and integration (payment systems, delivery services, etc.).
• Experience with Git and knowledge of PSR standards.
• Experience with testing, PHP Unit tests, and code refactoring.
• Experience working with caching systems.
• Ability to write clean, structured, and easily scalable code.
• Ability to scale and optimize large, complex platforms for performance and reliability.
• Passion for understanding and responding to customer needs.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
