Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the overall financial strategy, leadership, and risk management across the diversified portfolio of businesses, which includes commercial trading, real estate, and legacy investment operations. The job holder will ensure that financial practices align with the Group's strategic objectives, drive operational excellence, and support the long-term growth and sustainability of the organization


Job Accountabilities

Risk Management

Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial, operational, and strategic risks across all business units, while driving the development and execution of a long-term strategy to reduce the Group's overall risk profile.

Ensure the safeguarding of the group reputation through consultations on key relationships and investment matters, while providing the Group CFO with high-level briefings on financial health, risks, and opportunities.


Strategy Development

Collaborate with the senior leadership team to define and implement both short-term and long-term strategies, ensuring alignment with the Group’s overarching goals and objectives.

Lead the evaluation and integration of new business opportunities, including investments, diversification, and growth initiatives, while providing strategic leadership on major decisions such as mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.


Financial Metrics and Performance Management

Establish and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business unit and leadership performance, while leading benchmarking initiatives to assess the Group's financial standing relative to industry competitors.

Oversee the development of management information systems (MIS) for tracking KPIs, ensure compliance with debt covenants and financial obligations, and provide financial modeling expertise to support M&A transactions and capital expenditure decisions aligned with strategic objectives.


Operations and Operational Excellence

Oversee the optimization of IT systems and foster synergy across business units to drive cost efficiency, operational excellence, and enhanced collaboration within the Group.

Lead efforts in business development to identify new revenue opportunities, implement consistent policies and procedures, and ensure effective treasury management, while protecting Group assets and maximizing financial leverage


Leadership and Management

Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring alignment with corporate values, fostering continuous professional growth, and providing mentorship to support the Group’s operational and strategic objectives.

Drive a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and accountability across business units, while ensuring full compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.


Qualifications & Education

  • Master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent)


Experience

  • Minimum of 20 years of finance experience, with a significant portion spent at the C-suite level overseeing large, diversified, international/global businesses.
  • Extensive experience in leading the finance function of large, complex organizations, particularly in the commercial trading, real estate, and investment sectors.
  • Experience in the implementation of ERP Finance - especially SAP System.



Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep knowledge of financial management, including finance, leverage, cash flow, and treasury management.
  • Expertise in financial statements, external reporting, and management accounting.
  • Strong understanding of governance, legal compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills for influencing senior management and key stakeholders.
