Glocomms are partnering with a Portuguese IT consultancy that are looking for a Python Developer to join them on a long-term freelance project for a finance end client.
Start Date: March/April
Contract Length: 12 months renewable
Location: Lisbon (hybrid)
Languages: English
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
- Develop, unit test, and implement new features and enhancements in line with bank-wide technical architecture standards.
- Oversee code reviews, manage the source control repository, and handle deployments (with APS).
- Enhance existing software by fixing bugs, refactoring, or rewriting code as needed.
- Address general software issues related to data integrity, system efficiency, functional architecture, and performance.
- Regularly update the domain manager on task progress, and promptly escalate risks and issues.
- Mentor and guide team members, setting the technical direction for the relevant applications.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and C++.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Experience with Apache Ignite.
- Familiarity with GIT, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes (K8s).
Language Skills:
- English – Level 3 (Expert).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Effective teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive and flexible approach to challenges.
