Location

We’re seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team in one of our key office locations: Toronto. Our interns will be hybrid - sometimes you'll work from home, sometimes you'll work from the office. Managers and their organization will determine the frequency you'll need to go into the office to meet priorities.

About the role:

We’re seeking recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates in Computer Science or related fields who are passionate about making digital living safer and more seamless for all. This position is for a 2025 start.

With millions of websites, mobile apps, and API services relying on identity as a key layer, Okta is redefining what identity management looks like for the modern world. Most users still manage dozens of usernames and passwords, creating unnecessary friction in their digital experiences. We are a small, agile, and growing team of engineers bringing Okta’s expertise in identity to personal user experiences. With a consumer-first mindset, we rapidly iterate and experiment to build the best products for our users. You’ll collaborate across teams, including Product, Design, and Research, where open communication and cross-functional teamwork are key to our success.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver highly scalable software that powers the daily digital experiences of millions of users across mobile and desktop platforms.
• Drive the evaluation, development, and roll-out of new features in our Android app, while learning from experienced engineers in an open, supportive environment.
• Maintain high programming standards by participating in code reviews, writing tests, and ensuring software quality and reliability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to design discussions with cross-functional teams, sharing ideas that help shape product roadmaps and user experience.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• A passion for mobile software development and a drive to build reliable, consumer-facing products.
• Knowledge of building simple Android apps using Kotlin.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating third-party APIs into mobile applications.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in using Git/GitHub for version control.
• Past summer internship experience, ideally in consumer software companies.

Nice to have:

• Experience or interest in customer identity experience.
• Other mobile (iOS/Swift) or web (React/TypeScript) development experience.
• Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Education and Training:

• B.S., or MS., in Computer Science or related field
