Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to provide hands and feet support and oversee the physical administration of our data center in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will be responsible for on-site network support, hardware installations, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
- Provide hands and feet support for troubleshooting network issues, device replacements, and upgrades.
- Manage cabling, patching, and labeling of network equipment and ensure compliance with data center standards.
- Support rack and stack operations, including power connections and equipment positioning.
- Collaborate with remote network teams to assist in troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Monitor network hardware and data center environment for potential issues and failures.
- Ensure adherence to security policies, compliance standards, and best practices for data center management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network hardware inventory, configurations, and maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs, RMAs, and onsite support when necessary.
- Participate in on-call support rotations and respond promptly to critical incidents.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in network support and data center administration.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or other enterprise networking equipment.
- Familiarity with structured cabling, fiber optics, and power management.
- Ability to work in a data center environment, including lifting and installing heavy equipment.
- Experience in using network monitoring tools and remote troubleshooting techniques.
- Basic knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, and security protocols is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent.
- Data Center-related certifications (e.g., DCPRO, BICSI) are an advantage.
