About the Opportunity

MBN Solutions are delighted to partner with a UK Financial Services institution to support the build of a brand new Data team based in the UK.

We are looking for 2x Data Scientists to join the team to be at the forefront of designing & deploying Data Science methodologies to develop cutting-edge solutions that help support external customers. This role will involve:

• Combining diverse skills - using financial, statistical, mathematical, machine learning, and software engineering skills to evaluate multiple solutions, techniques, and algorithms to ensure the best approach for each challenge.
• End-end model development - using a product development mindset, you will lead the end-end development to solve complex business models.
• Stakeholder Collaboration - work closely with business stakeholders to identify key business problems/opportunities that can be addressed using data translation skills & advanced analytical techniques.
• Model Building & Testing - you'll be responsible for selecting, building, training, and testing complex machine learning models, considering aspects like model evaluation, risk management, governance, and ethics throughout the process to ensure scalability and reliability.

About You

• Proven experience working within a multi-disciplinary team within Data Science. Experience within Finance is preferable.
• Strong programming skills in Python and exposure to supporting libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Sci-kit Learn.
• Strong statistical knowledge & understanding of complex mathematical background. An academic qualification in a statistical/mathematical/economic is preferable.
• Experience with EViews would be highly desirable.
• Good understanding of structural data and the ability to source, handle & wrangle data.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with a data visualisation tool such as Tableau.
