You will lead a team of commissioning leads from individual technology packages and your job will be ensure a collective drive to fulfil the performance requirements with a unified Valmet approach as well as ensuring that safety, performance, financial, and quality targets are all achieved.
You will already be involved in the planning phase ensuring a solid plan to get a smooth hand over from construction to commissioning and develop the commissioning plan. As the cold commissioning of the pulp mill starts you have a team of experts to support you through your journey to a timely project completion. Your previous experience has taken you through this journey before and you have the acquired the skills to navigate, together with our talented organization, through the challenges that you will no doubt face.
You are an excellent communicator in English, and you can influence the discussions with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure you achieve your targets. You will be the face towards our customer for commissioning related issues and it is important to ensure a unified Valmet approach and message.
You will have probably gained your pulp mill process experience either by working for technology provider, consultancy, or production environment where you learned to test, trouble shoot and commission pulping and recovery technologies. This experience will be needed to help you lead and navigate from construction handover to performance tests.

During the project you will primarily report to the Project Director.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with Bachelors or Masters degree in Science or Engineering. You should have at least 10 years of experience from pulp mill process commissioning and/or operation and you have experience in pulp and energy process start-ups and commissioning.
You are fully competent with modern tools and processes used in project and commissioning management and have a proven ability to support us to develop them further. We work according to solid site management processes, but you should be sure of your vision to commission and close projects successfully and have the ways to get others on board.
You need excellent interpersonal skills to build trust in your network, motivate people and manage different expectations. You need to be a good communicator whether it is for executive summaries or details in specific expert matter areas.
Excellent proficiency in English is essential and ability in Swedish and/or Finnish would also be beneficial but not essential.
Majority of the work will be site based in different parts of the world but your 'home base' location in between projects can be any of Valmet's major Nordic or South American locations. You will primarily report to the Project Director.
