• A global funds company are looking to hire a Lead Engineer, focusing on Jenkins Platform Scalability to join their Enterprise Platform and Engineering Team.

About Your New Job

• Manage the release management process, ensuring complex applications are handled efficiently (especially those with multiple versions or services).
• Design and drive the process for scalable and efficient Jenkins platforms.
• Make hands-on decisions and actively contribute to building the platform while overseeing management tasks.
• Lead the team and guide their technical direction, ensuring they are aligned with the long-term vision for Jenkins and release management.
• Work closely with the SVP of Enterprise Architecture and Platform Engineering to review decisions and align on strategies.

What Skills You Need

• Experience building and owning Jenkins platforms (beyond just pipeline development).
• Expertise in release management, particularly with complex applications that have multiple services and versions.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team while also being deeply involved in hands-on work.
• Proven experience in scalability—building platforms that can handle large, growing numbers of applications.
• Extensive experience with Jenkins, including building governance around pipelines and ensuring scalability.
• Familiarity with AWS Pipelines, Bamboo, Octopus, and other tools; need to determine if Jenkins can fully handle the pipeline process or needs integration with other tools.
• Ability to make design and technical decisions, focusing on long-term scalability.
• Experience managing complex release management processes, especially in environments with multiple services and versions (e.g., managing 40 services for a single app).
• Understanding of how to scale pipelines from 10 to 1000 applications, including the flexibility to scale up and down.
