About The Bijenkorf E-commerce Organization


At the headquarters of the Bijenkorf, our e-commerce department, is our youngest department. A passionate and diverse group of people work together on the continuous growth and development of our digital platform.

Our department handles the delivery of omni-channel projects and the support of various internal departments. Our projects include (but are not limited to) the development of our e-commerce platform, mobile applications, CMS, various content channels, multichannel applications.

About the position of Frontend Engineer:


As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will be part of one of our cross-functional agile development teams at the head office located in Amsterdam.

We are looking for someone who has the desire to push the technical boundaries of what can be achieved within the online domain and give our visitors the best customer journey they can have.

We work closely together on delivering quality and innovation to our customers and stakeholders and focus on providing individuals with the support and freedom they need to grow and encourage them to take on responsibility.

Who We Are Looking For


  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript;
  • Have experience with TypeScript;
  • Have experience with TDD, BDD, and testing tools such as Vitest and Jest.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience with various JavaScript frameworks / libraries, such as React.js, Vue.js
  • Have experience or awareness of task runners like Webpack, Vite or Rollup and using source control (GIT);
  • Are familiar with API architecture and might even have experience with GraphQL;
  • Deep understanding of Agile & Scrum Methodologies;
  • Experience with high scale, customer facing applications;
  • Experience in the e-commerce platforms is a plus;
  • An affinity with retail and/or fashion is a plus.
