Information Security Officers work on a range of tasks on a daily basis, including but not limited to:


  • Technical risk assessment of systems, hardware and new processes.
  • Supporting projects with the development of secure design of systems.
  • Supporting the investigation of security incidents.
  • Delivering cyber awareness training and business continuity training to a range of stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the creation and review of business continuity plans.
  • Supporting the development of good data protection practices with privacy by design at the forefront of your knowledge.
  • You will be able to communicate clearly and concisely and manage busy workloads, often with conflicting priorities. You will remain professional under periods of pressure all whilst delivering quality work, often on tight timescales. A full list of the candidate criteria is available in the full job description.

  • Have experience in at least one of the professional fields of information security, data protection or IT risk management.

    Candidates will be required to attend onsite meetings in East Sussex and must be able to travel independently around Sussex. We are offering hybrid working arrangements, primarily working from home but with the opportunity to work with the team in our Lewes office.

    We have two positions available. One is permanent and the second is for a 12 month fixed term. Applications should be through the application forms only. CV’s and cover letters are not accepted for this role.

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

    Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
