Application Security Engineer

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Application Security Engineer to join their dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in the rapidly evolving field of distributed development technologies, contributing to vital security initiatives across applications. As part of the Application Security & Vulnerability Management unit, you will play a key role in safeguarding the integrity of applications through advanced security practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage requests for security tooling setup
• Conduct code reviews using Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools
• Support development squads in secure development and DevOps practices
• Lead training sessions on common security pitfalls
• Coach teams on using security tools effectively
• Oversee infrastructure for automated code evaluations and open-source assessments
• Ensure compliance with security policies and track evaluation processes
• Maintain and update development security guidelines
  
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong background in application development
• Passion for Application Security with a goal to specialize in the field
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle in Agile environments
• Experience in Shadow IT and security checks at different development stages
• Proficiency in tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, and Docker
• Basic knowledge of network security and mobile application vulnerabilities

• Proficient in English (mandatory), with desirable knowledge of Dutch or French
• Master's degree in IT or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Team player with strong interpersonal communication skills, capable of interacting with diverse roles including developers, architects, and management
• Self-motivated, analytical, and adaptable in a multi-cultural environment
• Quick learner with a passion for keeping abreast of the latest security and development trends
