DevOps Engineer – IT Infrastructure Security (KRITIS Compliance)

Join a leading innovator in the energy sector, delivering secure, on-premise smart metering solutions critical to Germany’s energy transition. This role focuses on improving DevOps processes and ensuring compliance with stringent KRITIS security standards in high-risk IT environments.

Role Overview

• Focus: Traditional DevOps emphasizing security and KRITIS compliance, primarily in Linux-based environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Location: Northern Germany, ideally near Oldenburg,
• Flexibility: 90% remote (1-3 site visits required a month, per customer request) client will also accept a 32 hour week (4 day working week)
• Languages: Fluent German (C1 Minimum) and English (B2 or higher).
• Experience: 2–3 years in a similar role, ready for immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated DevOps specialist for an agile product team, collaborating closely with developers, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners.
• Design, implement, and optimize secure CI/CD pipelines tailored to on-premise environments.
• Automate application and infrastructure deployment processes to improve productivity.
• Ensure compliance with KRITIS security standards for high-risk IT systems.
• Proactively identify and address optimization opportunities across development and deployment workflows.
• Support secure, reliable operation of a product critical to energy infrastructure, with a market base of up to 60 million homes.

What You Bring

• Expertise in DevOps tools and practices, including:
• Building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Octopus Deploy).
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Linux server administration and scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of KRITIS compliance and experience with high-security on-premise environments.
• Agile mindset with familiarity in Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• Willingness to travel for 1 day on-site per month in Oldenburg or Hamburg.
