Our client is leading construction company is the middle east, looking to hire a Project Manager for Marine Breakwater Construction is responsible for overseeing the planning,
execution, and successful completion of breakwater and Quaywall construction projects in Oman. This role involves managing project teams, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with stakeholders to deliver the project on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, marine construction expertise, and experience in managing coastal infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for the Harbour Project.
Oversee site preparation, Quarry operation, Breakwater and Quay Wall construction, dredging, and pontoon works.
Ensure adherence to engineering specifications and technical requirements.
Coordinate procurement of materials, including armor rocks, geotextiles, and concrete
elements.
Stakeholder Coordination
Communicate with clients, government agencies, engineers, and subcontractors.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
Address stakeholder concerns and provide regular progress updates.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
Promote a strong safety culture among site personnel.
Resource & Team Management
Supervise Construction Managers, site engineers, surveyors, and construction team members.
Allocate resources efficiently to optimize productivity.
Manage subcontractors and ensure quality control in construction activities.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management
Monitor project performance and conduct quality inspections.
Identify and resolve technical challenges during construction.
Implement contingency plans for adverse weather or unforeseen site conditions.
Financial Oversight
Control project costs and prevent budget overruns.
Review invoices, change orders, and contract modifications.
Ensure financial reporting and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil/coastal Engineering, or related field.
20+ years of experience in marine construction, preferably breakwater or coastal projects.
Strong knowledge of Breakwater & Quay wall construction.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and coastal protection strategies.
Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
