A leading specialist (re)insurer is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a devops to join their dynamic and forward-thinking technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of DevOps within development teams, champion best practices, and drive a culture of automation and efficiency across the software delivery lifecycle.

The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will embed within development teams, ensuring smooth CI/CD processes, automating software deployments, and optimising cloud-based application delivery. You will bring deep expertise in Java or TypeScript React development and take ownership of DevOps initiatives within engineering teams. This is a hands-on role where you will influence the DevOps culture, introduce best-in-class tooling, and enhance cloud-native development practices. This would not be a platform engineering role so you would not be suitable unless you have formerly been a developer.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement DevSecOps strategies within development teams.
- Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for Java or TypeScript React applications.
- Drive best practices in cloud-native application deployment on Azure.
- Work closely with developers to enhance build automation, release management, and deployment strategies.
- Optimise observability, logging, and monitoring within development environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, and performance issues.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong hands-on experience in DevOps and CI/CD pipeline automation (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions preferred).
- Software development background in Python Java or TypeScript React (Node/NPM).
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, networking, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Datadog, or Prometheus.
- Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
- Exposure to GitHub migration (desirable but not essential).
