The GL DevOps practice works with clients to help them deliver value more reliably, rapidly, and securely. We are vendor and technology-agnostic, though we focus primarily on helping clients migrate to Kubernetes-based delivery models. We care deeply about building out balanced processes that can be 100% owned and operated by our clients once we’re gone. We accomplish this by combining mentorship, best-in-class technology, and a strong sense of developer empathy. As DevOps practitioners, we also understand that while our clients typically come to us for our technical expertise, we must also be prepared to approach organizational and cultural problems in the software delivery lifecycle.

Requirements for the role:

• Experience configuring and deploying k8s in an AWS Cloud environment.
• Strong Bash scripting capabilities in a Linux environment.
• Setting up and configuring CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Udeploy, Jenkins, Groovy, and CloudBees CI technologies.
• Comfortable setting up logging and dashboards using Prometheus and Splunk
• Able to build React/NodeJS applications with Nexus and Docker
• Can configure security tools SonarQube and Fortify and integrate them into CI/CD processes
• Can use Ansible to handle cloud infrastructure
• Understand container technology, like Docker, and the growing ecosystem.
• Build and delivery processes for mobile and web applications.
• Are interested in improving the software delivery lifecycle using frameworks like Kubernetes
• Are comfortable working in polyglot environments (you’ll need to debug code written in Java, node.js, python, groovy, or golang)
• Are to help advise “build vs. buy” decisions
• Don’t mind reading the Kubernetes RBAC documentation.
• Are familiar with both NoSQL (Mongo, Redis) and RDBM (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server) systems
• Enjoy working in and learning to use a wide variety of technologies and languages

Job Responsibilities:

This is a client-facing, team-leading opportunity. We are looking for an experienced engineer who has deepened and diversified their skills in the DevOps field, or, moved to DevOps entirely, with experience across multiple technologies and platforms, including mobile build processes and delivery. Your role will involve a diversified blend of leadership that will include contributing as a programmer, handling infrastructure, and mentoring others. Scripting, automation, security, and creating environments that hum and are self-healing should be strong motivators for you. Docker and AWS experience are a must, along with Windows and Linux environments.

Department/Project Description

We generally operate with small teams working closely together on a wide variety of complex and exciting projects. Think Postgres optimization, mobile UI with React, and offline-enabled adaptable web applications to name a few. Our web stacks today include React, Vue.js, Angular, Rails / Sinatra, Node.js, and .NET, and we even have system-level languages like C/C++ and Go in production. We truly believe in identifying underlying patterns and frameworks and figuring out the best solution for the problem
