You’ll be part of an small, agile team working on Indi, an internal statistics and reporting product for Finanz Informatik, focused on optimizing SQL-heavy backend systems.

Your Role: Java Backend Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer to focus on backend development, with an emphasis on database optimization and performance for reporting and statistics systems. Some light infrastructure work (e.g., Kubernetes, Helm, Docker) may be involved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance Java-based backend systems (Java 21-23, Spring Boot).
• Write and optimize SQL queries and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Ensure high performance and scalability for data-heavy applications.
• Collaborate with team members and engage with customers if desired.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong Java development experience (Spring Boot).
• Deep hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or related fields with strong grades (2.2 or better in final grade).
• Familiarity with Helm, Kubernetes, and Docker is a plus.
• Fluent in German and English.
