As part of our growth, we are looking for a Software Engineer specializing in Governance & Design to lead the development and enforcement of coding standards, architectural principles, and secure practices across our engineering teams. This is a hybrid role requiring a presence in our Dublin 2 office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
What You’ll Do
- Define and enforce coding standards to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
- Collaborate with Technical Design Leads to audit services and produce reports on code quality and performance.
- Provide mentorship to development teams, conducting code reviews and offering constructive feedback to improve coding practices.
- Advocate for the adoption of emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance processes and product quality.
- Drive the creation and maintenance of uniform coding principles, ensuring security and compliance across projects.
- Lead design reviews to ensure alignment with best practices and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with global teams to improve automation capabilities, code health, and development efficiencies.
- Act as a key contributor in fostering a culture of innovation, simplicity, and technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise software development, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Expertise in coding standards, design patterns, and software architecture.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, JavaScript, and Python, with knowledge of their ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube, CodeSense).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and secure development practices.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Background in mentoring teams, conducting code reviews, and defining coding principles.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Bamboo, and Git.
