User Experience Designer

Unico Connect is a pioneering technology company that thrives on delivering innovative and user-centric solutions. We are seeking an experienced Senior UI/UX Designer with expertise in frontend development to join our team. In this role, you will take the lead in crafting exceptional user experiences for technology products, while also contributing to the frontend development process to bridge the gap between design and implementation. You will be responsible for creating unique and inventive designs for existing products, mentoring and leading a team of designers, and ensuring seamless integration of UI/UX designs into functional web applications.

Location Preferences: Eastern Europe (Remote)

Responsibilities:

1. UI/UX Design: Create innovative and user-friendly designs for technology products that solve complex problems and enhance user experiences.
2. Frontend Development: Implement UI designs using frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.js or Vue.js.
3. Out-of-the-Box Thinking: Provide unique and creative design solutions for existing products, pushing the boundaries of conventional design concepts.
4. Design Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance and inspiration to foster their professional growth and development.
5. User Research: Conduct user research to understand behaviors, needs, and pain points, and use insights to inform design decisions.
6. Prototyping: Develop interactive prototypes to demonstrate and validate design concepts and usability.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to align design with business objectives and ensure seamless implementation.
8. Design Systems: Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems to ensure consistency across products.
9. User Testing: Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to iterate and refine designs.
10. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful implementation of designs and provide design support during the development phase.
11. Documentation: Create and maintain design documentation, including wireframes, user flows, and design specifications.
12. Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, emerging technologies, and frontend development best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing innovative and user-centered designs.
• Design Tools: Expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools.
• Prototyping Tools: Proficiency in interactive prototyping using tools like InVision or similar.
• Frontend Development Skills: Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with modern frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Angular.
• User-Centered Design: Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methodologies.
• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically.
• Experience in Web & Mobile: Proven experience designing and developing for web and mobile applications.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with UI development tools such as Storybook.
• Knowledge of backend development basics to better collaborate with full-stack developers.
• Familiarity with design handoff tools like Zeplin, Proto.io, or Principle.
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design practices.
