What We Are Looking For:

A seasoned PHP Developer (12-month contract) to help us with our application upgrades and testing. This project involves upgrading a web application built on CakePHP 3 to the latest version of Laravel. The goal is to enhance performance, security, and maintainability while preserving all existing functionalities. This is a remote and 12-month contract position based in Romania.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Orchestrate the planning & implementation of modern back-end systems.
• Build robust, modern web applications using both server-side and client-side code.
• Consume and develop internal APIs, implement business logic, and work with the team to design the best ways to bring Sectigo visions to life.
• Create tests, design, documentation, performance analysis, and support teams within the business, besides day-to-day development work.
• Develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable code using modern PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
• Develop user-facing features and interfaces using Tailwind CSS and JavaScript Frameworks.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of maintainable and scalable code and provide solutions for implementation.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and front-end developers to deliver compelling user-facing products.
• Mentor and coach developers of all levels, reviewing their code and providing constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends in front-end development and JavaScript & PHP frameworks
• Enforce best practices, code quality, and maintainability within the project teams you deployed within.
• Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profiles, Talents, and Desired Qualifications:

• Excellent English Communication
• Extensive knowledge of programming languages and specific code frameworks that are being upgraded.
• Extensive knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development.
• Availability to work most hours aligned with Western European hours.
• Exclusivity to work on the assigned project for the full contract period.
• Single contractors are preferred over large agencies.
• Faster learners who can collaborate well, contractors will be assigned an application expert who can assist in understanding the business logic layers and assist where necessary.
