Flowers and Gifting - Category Manager

Job Overview:


Snoonu is looking for an experienced and passionate Flowers and Gifting - Category Manager to oversee and manage the flower and gifting product categories. This role will focus on creating a diverse, high-quality range of flowers, bouquets, plants, and gifting products, driving revenue, and ensuring a superior customer experience. The Category Manager will be key in curating seasonal offerings, optimizing product assortments, managing supplier relationships, and leading marketing efforts to grow the category.



(Some of) What you will be doing:


1) Category Strategy & Development:

  • Execute the strategy for both the flower and gifting categories, aligning product assortment with customer trends and seasonal demand.
  • Develop and execute category plans, identifying growth opportunities, and optimizing the mix of products (flowers, bouquets, gifting items, etc.) to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor offerings to ensure Snoonu’s flower and gifting categories remain competitive and appealing.


2) Product Sourcing & Selection:

  • Curate a comprehensive selection of flowers, plants, gifts, and related products that meet quality standards and customer demand.
  • Work with suppliers, wholesalers, and local artisans to source unique and high-quality floral and gifting products.
  • Manage product lifecycle, from selection and introduction to discontinuation, based on sales performance and customer feedback.


3) Supplier & Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, florists, and gifting vendors to secure the best prices and product availability.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms of contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance for quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction, resolving issues as they arise.


4) Sales & Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor category sales, analyzing trends, revenue, margins, and customer purchasing behavior.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize product selection, pricing, and promotions, ensuring the category achieves sales targets and maintains profitability.
  • Plan and execute sales-driven campaigns and promotional activities that resonate with key occasions (e.g., holidays, celebrations, anniversaries).


5) Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional strategies for both the flower and gifting categories, including digital campaigns, seasonal offers, and social media marketing.
  • Work with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth stock management and timely product deliveries, especially during peak seasons.
  • Partner with customer service and sales teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and fast resolution of any category-related issues.


6) Customer Experience & Innovation:

  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, customer preferences, and innovations within the flower and gifting industry.
  • Leverage customer feedback and market research to innovate new product offerings, enhance existing selections, and improve overall category performance.
  • Focus on enhancing the customer journey, from product discovery to delivery, ensuring high satisfaction and loyalty.


Attitude matters most but do you have any of these?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in category management, preferably in the flower and gifting, retail, or e-commerce industry.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing product categories, with a focus on flowers, gifting, or seasonal products.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and seasonal product demands in both the flower and gifting sectors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, sales forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and innovative mindset, especially around product assortments and marketing strategies.
  • Solid knowledge of e-commerce trends and customer engagement strategies for flowers and gifting products.
