SENIOR JAVA ENGINNER

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Java Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine.

Our client is a company specializing in travel management solutions. It offers a proprietary technology platform that automates the booking and management of hotel rooms and services, such as sourcing and contracting accommodations, crew planning, daily operations management, and billing and reconciliation.

They provide comprehensive services to manage crew accommodations, ground transportation, and travel logistics for large-scale operations. The client manages lodging and ground transportation for over 100 airlines worldwide.

The company has also expanded its services to rail, cruise lines, and sports teams. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Melville, New York, it has over 40 years of experience managing crew accommodations and logistics for airlines and other commercial travel clients.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in the development of modern Java technologies.
5+ years of experience developing web-based applications.
1+ years of experience with Angular.
Knowledge of Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud) and MVC web-based applications.
Understanding producing and consuming SOAP/XML and REST/JSON-based web services.
Professional working experience with AWS cloud platform and services.
Strong knowledge of SQL, Redis, DB Migration tools, and AWS RDS.
Knowledge of Docker.
Understanding of managing client support issues and escalations.
Experience with Agile is a with exposure to TDD.
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog).
Self-motivated and directed individual, able to prioritize, assign, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.

Nice to have

Experience with Kubernetes.
Experience with Node.js.
Other experiences with AWS (Cognito, S3, etc.).

Responsibilities

Take part in full lifecycle application development.
Design, code, and debug software systems using the TDD approach.
Perform software analysis, risk analysis, and reliability analysis.
Provide mentorship to develop technical and soft skills for members of the team.
Manage cross-team communications and priority setting for the team.
Participate in software design, architectural discussions, prototyping, and development estimation process.
Integrate new software solutions with existing client systems.
Participate in client requirements and Scrum team discussions.
Support production as needed.
Provide functional/system integration testing support and deployment.
