As our Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Develop and Optimize: Design, develop, and enhance our backend systems to ensure they are robust, scalable, and efficient.

• Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend development with business objectives and product roadmaps.

• Maintain Quality: Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment to maintain high-quality standards.

• Innovate: Contribute to problem-solving and bring fresh ideas to improve our product and processes.

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development:

• Design and implement scalable backend solutions using modern programming languages.

• Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems.

• Optimize application performance and scalability.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Product Owner, Frontend Team Lead, and QA Lead to ensure seamless integration and product quality.

• Communicate effectively with team members to clarify requirements and achieve project goals.

Code Quality and Standards:

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

• Conduct code reviews and adhere to coding standards.

Problem Solving:

• Identify and address technical debt and system bottlenecks.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in backend development.

Technical Skills:

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, C#, Go, PHP or Node.js. Python experience is a plus but not required.

• API Development: Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.

• Databases: Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).

• Version Control: Proficient with Git and collaborative workflows.

• Testing: Experience with unit testing and integration testing.

• Cloud Services: Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Initiative: High level of responsibility and professionalism.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (although not required).

• Understanding of microservices architecture.

Additional Information

• Start Date: As soon as possible.

• Location: This position is based in our Vilnius office, with options for remote work as needed.

• Interview Process:

• Initial screening with the CEO (30-60 minutes).

• Technical interview with the Backend Team (1.5-2h).

• Final interview with the CEO and key team members (1h).
