Do you have a passion for developing leader and manager capability, driving cultural change, and shaping the future of work? We’re looking for a dynamic Principal Human Resources Consultant (Talent & Leadership Development) to help launch and establish a new program of work that will transform leadership and organisational capability.

The Opportunity

The Principal Human Resources Consultant (Talent and Leadership Development) is a new position has been created to report to, and collaborate with, the Manager Leadership and Talent Development to implement organisational capability strategies to enable a future ready workforce.

This role will play a key role in project deliver, develop and implement best-fit strategies, and recommend solutions to address capability gaps aligned with departmental goals. Responsibilities include providing expert advice on leadership trends, ensuring timely project delivery, and evaluating programs. The role will also design, implement, and assess leadership and capability initiatives, including training, workshops, mentoring, coaching, and external partnerships.

You'll be joining a collaborative HR Strategy team at the outset of a new program of work, helping to shape leadership, management and talent development at DPI during an exciting period of cultural transformation. With the department's new Director-General setting bold goals, this role offers the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of change—helping to shape how talent is nurtured, leaders are developed, and future workforce capability is built.

You may also have

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline, for example: Adult Education and Learning Principles; Leadership Development; Organisational Capability; Organisational Change and Development; Organisational Psychology, or Human Resource Management, and/or relevant transferable experience would be highly desirable.
