Automation Engineer

Automation Engineer - Mons, BE - Freelance - March 1st

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to develop and integrate robotic automated solutions for steel continuous casting and molten steel flow regulation.

Responsibilities:

• Design hardware and automation systems to meet customer requirements.
• Program Siemens TIA PLC, HMI, and KUKA robots.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, control systems, and SCADA/HMI interfaces.
• Oversee drafting work, approve drawings, and ensure cost-efficient designs.
• Conduct equipment testing, validation, and on-site commissioning.

Requirements:

• Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering or related field.
• Experience in industrial automation, control systems, and systems integration.
• Skills in Siemens PLC programming and a basic understanding of steel industry applications.
• Proactive, autonomous, and hands-on approach.
• Proficient in Dutch & English

General Conditions:

Start date: March 1st

Duration: 6 months (with extension)

Location: Mons/Remote

Contract type: Freelance
