Overview

Aether is on a mission to develop a comprehensive AI-driven platform for the energy industry. Our founders have strong technical academic background from UC Berkeley, complemented by extensive technical experience gained at some of the most influential companies in the energy sector.

Aether is seeking a full-stack engineer with extensive experience building SaaS applications. As a founding engineer, you will drive technical architecture and technical decisions from day one. Our overall application involves computer vision, CAD, and financial applications built on top of it. Experience building and debugging complex models is a must.

This role will mainly be onsite in Paris, 4 days a week and is not fully remote.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Gets things done. This is an emerging Y Combinator seed company, and we require you to make an impact from day one.

Your growth potential here is unlimited.

• Someone with a strong product instinct who can own projects from inception to implementation.
• Understands React extremely well. You should know state management, and other React hooks with ease.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED
• 3+ years of experience in front-end engineering developing production-level code.
• JavaScript and React are a must.
• Next.js + Node of at least 3 years of professional experience
• Docker understanding.
• Working with REST APIs for production apps.
• Ensure that components are functional, elegant performant and mobile-friendly.
• Be accountable for communicating transparently, defining scope & breaking down stories.
• Must be proficient/fluent in English.
• Preferred - We know you won’t know everything but having a good general breadth of the requirements below will set you apart.
• Engineering/Physics, Math, or Computer Science background is preferred.
• Postgres is our database setup alongside GCP, knowledge of relational databases is a must
• This role works with the larger simulation product application; lots of numbers. Mathematical knowledge will be useful.

Compensation/Time Commitment/Location:

This is a hybrid role (4 days in office) with founding team based out of Paris, France. We support US customers and as such you will be asked at times to slightly align with eastern US hours (we start work late) at 11am CET.
