Head of Cyber Security – New Team

Day Rate: €750 - €850 DOE

Join a rapidly expanding organisation that has doubled its technical presence in Ireland over the last two years, with ambitious growth plans for 2025 and 2026.

This fast-paced and high-performing company is building its Cyber Security team from the ground up, and they are seeking a Head of Cyber Security to lead this initiative.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Building and leading a small team of Cyber Security professionals.
• Establishing best practices for IT security across the organization.
• Managing third-party vendors and selecting new security tools and platforms.
• Driving security strategy while maintaining a strong technical hands-on approach.

This senior leadership position requires excellent stakeholder management, team leadership, and deep technical expertise in Cyber Security.

Key Responsibilities

• IT Security Risk Management – Identify and assess vulnerabilities, define action plans, and implement security measures in line with regulatory standards.
• Team Leadership – Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing Cyber Security team.
• Vendor Management – Oversee third-party vendors, ensuring they deliver on SLAs on time and to the highest standard.
• Incident Management – Define, implement, and oversee security incident response procedures.
• Technical Security Oversight – Advise on tooling, penetration testing, and optimization to strengthen security posture.

Required:

• Proven experience as a Head of Cyber Security in a highly regulated industry (Finance, Banking, Insurance, Payments, etc.).
• 5+ years of team leadership and management experience.
• Deep technical expertise across the Cyber Security landscape, with the ability to engage in both high-level strategic discussions and hands-on security implementation.
• Strong knowledge of IT Security frameworks and regulatory compliance standards.

Day Rate: €750 - €850 DOE

This position is only open to candidates located in Ireland holding an EU Passport or Stamp 4 Visa. This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days per week.
