Cyber Security Internship

Accenture UK & Ireland
Ireland · Full-time · Entry

ACCENTURE CYBER SECURITY:

We have exciting opportunities for penultimate year students to join our Accenture Security division. By 2030, cyberattacks could cost $90 trillion. Yet most providers only address one small part of security. Accenture is different. We lead the field with holistic approaches to help clients rethink everything, throughout the entire security lifecycle and across their value chains end to end. Using the coolest next-gen tech, you’ll have every chance to stay one step ahead of cybercrime and out-hack the hackers.

ACCENTURE CYBER SECURITY INTERNSHIP:

Our Cyber Security Interns work on pioneering security solutions that blend risk strategy, digital identity, cyber defence, application security and managed services for our wide range of clients.

Once you join us as an intern, you will become part of our official Intern Development Programme which allows you the opportunity to set your objectives and drive your performance in soft skills, knowledge, applications, and abilities. Review sessions throughout your internship will track your progress against your targets and open further opportunities to maximise your potential during your time with us. You will develop industry-leading specialist skills and be kept fully up to speed with the latest innovations and delivery practices. You will also be part of the Internship Community at Accenture which offers a wide range of ongoing training, networking events, support, and career advice from your appointed career counsellor.

Required Skillset

We’re looking for students from STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to join the Cyber Security stream of our Internship programme for a 3-month, paid summer internship. Interns who have studied cyber security or relevant topics have a distinct advantage. We also welcome applications from students who have relevant work experience, e.g. Capture the Flag or Ethical Hacking events. Candidates must meet the below criteria:

  • Be on course to achieve a minimum of 2.2 grade in your degree

  • Be in your penultimate year at university

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in cyber security is an advantage

  • Possess strong teamwork skills

  • Proven adaptability and experience learning in a continuously changing technology environment

  • An eagerness to learn, and willingness to use that curiosity to solve technology problems

  • An aptitude for solving problems; for example, breaking complex problems into smaller parts, before proposing potential solutions

  • Effective communication skills; for example, listening to and accurately capturing others’ ideas, feedback and concerns, plus the ability to articulate ideas in a clear and engaging manner

  • A willingness to push yourself outside of your comfort zone to discover something new. Therefore, a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn is key

  • A desire for self-improvement

  • Strong work ethic

  • Flexibility to work on a diverse range of projects in various locations

  • DOES THIS APPEAL TO YOU? IF SO, WE WISH TO HEAR FROM YOU.
