Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Architect to design, implement, and optimize our application architecture, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and alignment with strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern application frameworks, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Microservices, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Architecture Development:
• Develop and maintain application architecture frameworks for scalability, security, and adaptability.
• Design and implement SOA and Microservices frameworks for seamless system integration.
• Evaluate and select platforms and tools that align with organizational goals.
• Application Optimization:
• Re-engineer existing applications to optimize performance and adopt modern design standards.
• Ensure compliance with best practices in application security, usability, and performance.
• Identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions.
• Integration & Interoperability:
• Collaborate with infrastructure and data architects to create a cohesive application ecosystem.
• Develop an integration layer for smooth data propagation across systems.
• Design and maintain APIs, middleware, and other integration points for seamless interoperability.
• Governance & Standards:
• Establish and enforce application development standards to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Conduct regular architecture reviews to align application development with enterprise strategies.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Gather and document requirements from internal and external stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead discussions with project teams to ensure applications meet functional and performance requirements.
• Emerging Technologies:
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and assess their relevance to organizational goals.
• Provide recommendations for adopting new technologies to enhance application architecture and efficiency.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
• Prepare detailed documentation on application designs, standards, and operational procedures.
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance on best practices.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:5+ years in application architecture design, development, and optimization.
• Expertise in SOA, Microservices, and cloud-based application architectures.
• Experience in large-scale integration projects and working in complex environments.
• Local Qatar experience is a plus.
  
  

Certifications

• TOGAF certification is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in MS Azure, application development frameworks, security, or related technologies are a plus.
• DAMA certification is a plus.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Strong programming skills in modern languages and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise application platforms, middleware, and integration tools.
• Proficiency in API design and implementation.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies and cloud platforms.
• Experience with data-intensive and integration-driven projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of Qatar Enterprise Architecture GEA is a plus.

Tools & Methodologies

• Hands-on experience with Enterprise Architecture (EA) tools (e.g., Orbus iServer, Sparx EA).
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of ITIL and industry frameworks for IT service management.
• Knowledge of Qatar Enterprise Architecture GEA is a plus.
  
  

Language Requirements

• Proficiency in English is required.
• Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
