Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure scalability, security, and alignment with strategic objectives, supporting seamless integration of systems and maintaining high performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Architecture Development:
  • Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure IT infrastructure architectures.
  • Establish and maintain hardware, networking, storage, and virtualization standards.
  • Ensure infrastructure systems support current and future business needs.
  • Strategic Planning and Optimization:
  • Analyze and optimize existing infrastructure to enhance performance and reduce costs.
  • Develop long-term infrastructure strategies, including capacity planning and technology adoption.
  • Align infrastructure architecture with organizational goals and emerging technologies.
  • Integration & Interoperability:
  • Design and build integration layers to ensure seamless data propagation.
  • Collaborate with application, data, and business architects to ensure infrastructure alignment.
  • Guarantee compatibility and interoperability across internal and vendor systems.
  • Governance & Standards:
  • Establish and enforce infrastructure architecture standards, ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct regular reviews of infrastructure designs and configurations.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Emerging Technologies & Innovation:
  • Stay up to date on cloud computing, virtualization, and containerization technologies.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Implement cutting-edge solutions to maintain a competitive and future-ready infrastructure.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide infrastructure solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to implement projects.
  • Ensure compliance by providing accurate information to audit and regulatory teams.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation on infrastructure designs and standards.
  • Maintain a repository of architecture artifacts and guidelines.
  • Mentor team members and promote best practices in infrastructure architecture.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:5+ years in infrastructure architecture, design, and management.
  • Proven track record of implementing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Local Qatar experience is a plus.

Certifications

  • TOGAF certification is a plus.
  • Additional certifications in ITIL, VMware, AWS, Azure, or Cisco technologies are a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with networking, storage, and compute technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, automation frameworks, and scripting languages.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Tools & Methodologies

  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture tools (e.g., Orbus iServer).
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
  • Knowledge of Qatar Enterprise Architecture GEA is a plus.

Language Requirements

  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Operating Environment

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • Frequent external stakeholder meetings and workshops are expected.
