Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in the retail industry. The role will involve using data analytics to optimize our business operations and improve customer experiences.

Description

  • Extract, analyse and interpret large volumes of data to identify trends and insights.
  • Develop predictive models to support decision making and business optimisation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Design and implement data collection systems and strategies.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of data governance policies and practices.

Profile

A Successful Data Scientist Should Have

  • A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, SAS, Scala, and Java (for big data processing)
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel
  • Hands-on experience in data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, including regression, classification, clustering, and anomaly detection
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in a retail or commercial environment is highly regarded
