Senior Back-End Software Developer, Retail Solutions

Are you an experienced developer with a passion for learning and growth? We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Back End Software Developer to join our team working on Veikkaus' sales terminal solution. This is a permanent full-time position.

Our team develops and maintains the backend systems and terminal application for Veikkaus' sales terminal - business-critical, high-volume, transaction critical solutions built on a composable architecture. The team is responsible for the entire lifecycle of the solution, from design to maintenance. We face complex challenges in everyday actions, and we take pride in developing secure, high-quality and maintainable systems. With financial transactions at the core - reliability and professionalism are paramount. We foster a culture where freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.

Veikkaus offers a wide range of games and gaming products. Our products have earned international acclaim, providing safe, responsible, and innovative gaming experiences both in Finland and internationally through our subsidiary, Fennica Gaming. In this role, you will develop solutions used by sales personnel and customers in a retail environment.

Technologies and products we use include, but are not limited to:

• Kotlin + Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Typescript + React, Amazon AWS, Terraform

We expect you to:

• Have strong skills in JVM languages
• Have at least 5+ years development experience on the backend side, with business critical systems
• Have experience in using AWS Compute-, Container-, Database- and Networking-services
• Have experience in designing, processing and configuring relational databases
• Have skills in web technologies
• Fluent in English

The role is based in Helsinki at the headquarters of Veikkaus. Veikkaus prefers a flexible hybrid work model between a remote workplace and an office. Team is working at the office average 2-3 days per week.
