Are you a skilled software engineer ready to take on complex data challenges? Join Bobby Tables, the team behind Smartly’s core reporting engine, and help shape the future of data-driven advertising. In this role, you’ll develop high-scale systems, optimize data processing, and build reporting tools used by 90% of our customers—some of the world’s largest brands.

We are looking for an engineer already based in Helsinki, ready to work in a hybrid model with three days per week in our office.

About The Bobby Tables Team & The Role

The Bobby Tables team develops and maintains the core reporting engine that powers Smartly’s AI-driven advertising platform. Our reporting tools process billions of data points across multiple ad channels, enabling businesses to make data-backed decisions and optimize campaigns at scale.

As a Software Engineer, you will:

• Develop scalable backend and frontend solutions, improving reporting tools for thousands of marketers.
• Work with large datasets, optimizing performance and data aggregation.
• Design and build robust APIs, ensuring reliability and efficiency at scale.
• Contribute to system architecture and infrastructure decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to create high-impact solutions.
  
  
  

Technologies We Use

• Backend: Node.js (TypeScript), Ruby (Active Record), PostgreSQL with Citus
• Frontend: React
• Core: REST APIs, data ingestion services
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in developing scalable distributed systems.
• Strong backend experience, preferably with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL is a plus).
• Familiarity with Ruby is beneficial but not required.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and best practices.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• Already based in Helsinki and able to work in our office three days a week.
