Business Data Analyst

Hybrid 3 days a week

Description

The person will be on the new Operational & Business Metrics team within an IT Management/COO organization. The team defines and produces metrics focusing on key initiatives in our space, operational effectiveness and business management. The team works horizontally across many silos. The person will be in a business & data analytics role, working on a team of three (or four depending when they join).

Responsibilities:

• Display strong analytical skills, with a proven track record of managing & reporting on large datasets.
• You will engage in the entire data life cycle - collect requirements, identify or build data source, analyze data, build data pipelines to load and transform data, visualize and present data.
• Ensure data quality, manage and scale data solutions.
• Implementing appropriate industry-standard practices, including defining and reporting on key metrics, identifying risks, issues, gaps, and dependencies within and across work streams.
• Assistance with documenting data models and flows, artifacts, and responsibilities.
• Develop, analyze, and present findings in response to senior management requests.
• Demonstrate good time management and ability to prioritize tasks and to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
• Must be flexible, highly adaptable to a constantly changing environment. The candidate will be asked to juggle multiple ad hoc requests in addition to the BAU aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and flexible team player who has a strategic vision but also the ability to execute successfully.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience working with data analytics / visualization software. Power BI preferred.
• Background in statistics or data science is a plus.
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (Verbal and Written).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to analyze / synthesize large amounts of information and present findings to senior audiences.
• Ability to work across functional disciplines and with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment while juggling multiple tasks.
• Ability to be flexible with ever-changing prioritization.
• Creative thinker who will take complete ownership and accountability.
• Background in statistics or data science is a plus.
