THE ROLE

We're looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to shape and refine our data pipelines. As the first professional in this role, your collaboration with our data analysts and scientists will be essential in constructing the infrastructure for previously untapped data resources. You'll have the opportunity to explore the latest innovative technologies, tools, and methodologies with our team. Your contributions will be significant in establishing a more efficient data infrastructure, contributing to the company's data-driven evolution and success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and optimize data pipeline and architecture for our mobile apps and other data sources. This includes integrating new data sources and optimizing data flows.
• Build and maintain big data systems on Google Cloud Platform (such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, DBT, Pub/Sub, and more)
• Develop data models, schemas, metadata and perform data profiling to understand and optimize how data flows through the pipeline
• Monitor and troubleshoot data quality issues throughout the pipeline and develop automated solutions to avoid them in future
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand business needs and develop scalable data solutions
• Keep our data architecture up-to-date with advancements in big data technologies
  
  

Requirements:

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• 3+ years experience as a data engineer
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with SQL databases
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform /AWS/Snowflake
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders throughout the organization
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
  
  

NICE TO HAVE:

• Knowledge of big data technologies like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, etc.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

We are a distributed team of more than 130 people, all working remotely and communicating partially synchronously (we usually overlap with our team for 4 hours daily and are free to work on some of the tasks whenever it suits us best). We value open communication, proactivity and work/life balance and we measure our freelancers on performance, rather than on the time spent on the job.
