IT Project Manager - Physical Security Systems - Hybrid (Crawley area 2 days a week) - Contract Inside IR35 (negotiable day rate)


Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of their physical security systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in enhancing the security and safety of our premises and personnel.


About the Role:

As our IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle of implementing and upgrading our physical security infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, CCTV systems, access control (ID cards, biometric scanners), barrier controls, and alarm systems. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and our IT team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, define scope, manage timelines, budgets, and resources. Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon milestones.
  • Vendor Management: Select, negotiate with, and manage external vendors for equipment, installation, and maintenance services.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Technical Oversight: Understand the technical requirements of the physical security systems and work with the IT team to integrate them seamlessly with existing network infrastructure.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks, proactively developing contingency plans.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, installation guides, and maintenance records.
  • Budget Control: Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring cost-efficiency and value for money.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all implemented systems meet the required quality standards and comply with relevant regulations.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, ideally with a focus on physical security systems implementation.
  • Strong understanding of CCTV systems, access control (ID cards, biometrics), barrier controls, and alarm systems.
  • Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Prince2, Agile).
  • A relevant IT qualification (e.g., degree, certifications) is desirable.


Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience integrating physical security systems with network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of relevant security standards and regulations.
