What will you be doing?
Octopus Energy Engineering is responsible for the sites, services, and tariffs that are used by the millions of Octopus Energy customers worldwide. From building the latest, cutting-edge time-of-use tariffs, to helping customers actually enjoy tasks like providing meter readings through our wheel of fortune - and everything in between. You’ll find a wide variety of challenges in the work we do as we help push the energy revolution forward. Our teams are multi-disciplined and collaborate between countries, meaning you have what you need to get the right people together and build the next great thing.
We are looking for an Associate Frontend Developer to join the OE Engineering team. You’ll be working on helping us to ensure that our customers are always excited to engage with us, with beautiful customer journeys that are highly intuitive and always customer-centric. This is driven by a fast, customer-driven feedback cycle, and we’re always looking to innovate with new features and campaigns which will help to drive our Green Mission forward! 🐙

What You'll Need
- Experience in crafting mobile-first responsive sites for a range of devices, meaning you can create code that works consistently across different browsers and platforms
- Experience with JavaScript Frameworks, such as React/Next.js
- A keen interest or ability to build web experiences that meet AAA accessibility guidelines
- The ability to write solid, semantic HTML and have experience writing CSS & styled components
- Experience with up-to-date front end testing methodologies
- The ability to take Figma designs and bring them to life in code alongside our amazing designers
- TypeScript
- React/Next.js
- GraphQL & Apollo/React Query
- Styled components & CSS
- Jest, Vitest & React Testing Library
- Webpack
- Django/Python (server-side and templating)
- Vercel
