The opportunity

We're currently looking for a Machine Learning Engineer. Someone to join our Customer Experience team in order to deliver customer insights and analytics. Someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed.

This position is a remote position with regular travel to our Gothenburg HQ. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time, and support, to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.

The Responsibilities

In this role, you'll be expected to develop, deploy, and scale impactful and complex cloud Machine Learning solutions.

See below for a more thorough breakdown of the various tasks and areas you'll be responsible for:

  • Guiding Data Scientists and engineers on all things related to ML and ML Platform infrastructure, thereby elevating the overall ML engineering process within the team.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of deployed solutions through vigilant monitoring, proactive maintenance, and effective troubleshooting. Fostering strong communication with the ML Platform team.
  • Playing a key part in advancing our MLOps practices, including CI/CD.

The ideal candidate

In order to succeed in this role, and at Polestar in general, there are a few characteristics you'll need to have. Tenacity. Flexibility. Curiosity. The ability to take the initiative, to meet deadlines and requirements, and to abandon ideas when they're not feasible.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who excels at knowledge sharing and thrives in collaborative environments. The ideal candidate will be able to seamlessly adapt to fast-paced, dynamic settings while maintaining a humble and approachable demeanor.

In Addition, You'll Need The Following

  • You boast a proven track record of managing end-to-end machine learning deployments and maintaining deployed solutions, backed by relevant experience in the ML/MLOps domain.
  • You are familiar with cloud platforms, e.g., AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Your expertise extends to efficiently scaling and adeptly troubleshooting machine learning deployments, enabling you to address technical challenges faced by our teams.
  • Your grasp of ML and MLOps principles is second to none, and your proficiency in Python adds further depth to your skill set. Familiarity with LangChain and LlamaIndex is a benefit.
  • Ideally, you’re well-versed in technologies such as AWS CDK, DynamoDB, S3, StepFunctions, SageMaker, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Docker, SQL, and Git. Familiarity with Vertex AI and R is also a benefit.
  • A solid understanding of statistics and optimization, and knowledge of data security/ethics are advantageous.

Polestar is an international company, with various backgrounds represented. English, therefore, is the language of written and spoken communication. And though we have a global presence, we maintain the growth-mindset. Change happens often at Polestar. But so does progress. Expect an accelerating, exciting environment.

The process

If the above matches your ambitions, be sure to apply. Applications will initially close on Friday 21st March.
