Role Summary

You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our development teams from others. You will get to work with smart and hardworking individuals who are doing state of the art development work in areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence, data analytics, infrastructure and event correlations across silos to build best-in-class business analytics software.

What our team does

You will join the Build & Workflow Engine team, a dynamic dual-project group offering exposure to a wide range of skills. The Workflow Engine team supports enterprise-scale installations of the Argo product suite for microservice deployment, event-based use cases, and ephemeral workflows. Meanwhile, the Build team is innovating the Splunk build process using the Bazel build system.

What you'll get to do

• Design, develop, code and test software systems, or applications within the scope of a contained, end-to-end project.
• Contribute through participation in agile development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems.
• Work under the close supervision of a mentor with weekly check-ins.
  
  

Must-have Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelors or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement
• At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship
  
  

Nice-to-have Qualifications

• Familiarity with one mainstream programming language, such as Go, Java, or Python
• Exposure to docker, Kubernetes, or public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Exposure to working with REST APIs
• Familiarity with test-driven development, writing various levels of automated tests, such as unit test, functional test, integration test, system test, or performance / load test
• Able to learn new technologies quickly
• Experience collaborating with others in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
