Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• 1 year of experience implementing core Machine Learning concepts.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in safety-adjacent fields, such as factuality.
• Experience in content safety, as applied to software products.

Responsibilities

• Be a part of a global team of engineers building content safety classifiers to safeguard business-critical products that represent significant business, market share or value to Google, including GenAI-based experiences both server-side and on-device.
• Deliver quality, future-proof and performing infrastructure, and you will protect users from exposures to offensive, sensitive or potentially harmful content, and unlock new opportunities for the business.
• Be among the founding Machine Learning Engineers joining the team and contribute to the server and on-device protections. You will be responsible for growing the team by interviewing qualified candidates, actively mentoring the team around you, and accountable for the team's deliverables.
