Job Description

At ContentWise, our Senior Software Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and delivering distributed and high-scalable services with a focus on quality, robustness and maintainability. Moreover, they work hand-in-hand with our DevOps Engineers to architect and construct streamlined software development pipelines and environments.

Full-time position at the Milan office with a hybrid flex work policy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed and highly scalable services, ensuring quality, robustness and maintainability;
• Write technical documentation, ensuring alignment with the latest product and architecture changes.
• Collaborate with DevOps Engineers to design and construct efficient software development pipelines and environments;
• Conduct research, test and apply new techniques and tools to improve the development process, quality and performance.
• Assign and delegate tasks and projects to other Software Engineers monitoring and evaluating their progress and outcomes;

Qualifications and Experience

• BS/MS degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field;
• At least 5+ years of experience as a backend developer with expertise in Java or Kotlin languages and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS);
• Solid experience with Java frameworks (preferably Spring or Quarkus), and familiarity with Linux, MySQL, and NoSQL databases;
• Solid experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed and highly scalable systems;
• Experience with AWS ecosystem, including EC2, RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB, S3;
• Experience with distributed events store and streaming systems (preferably Apache Kafka)
• Familiarity with full-text search engines (preferably Elasticsearch);
• Familiarity with Kubernetes;
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools;
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Kanban workflow management, with a passion for collaboration and iterative improvement;
• Passionate about experimenting with cutting-edge technologies;
