Motion is growing fast (3x YoY), our product is sticky and we recently raised $30M in Series B funding. We doubled our customers as well as our headcount in 2024, and have just over 50 team members.

But we’re just getting started and we need your help!

We’ve built a new category of software to bridge the gap between performance marketers and creative teams. Our platform combines creative analytics, research, and strategy. Motion is the command center for Creative Strategists.

Our customers are top ecom and DTC brands like Vuori, True Classic, The Farmer’s Dog, HexClad, and thousands more. They’ve used Motion to analyze over $13B in media spend.

About You

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to play a crucial part in building end-to-end customer-facing features. As a company, we have a strong bias towards action and are looking for independent individuals with both technical and product savvy. You will use good judgment to make product choices and technical decisions from our customers’ perspective, we expect more than just shipping code.

The right candidate favours working on a cross-functional team, has opinions about good product experiences, and embraces a willingness to get the job done.

Motion is a fully remote company but we work closely as a team. We are looking for someone based in EST preferably in Toronto.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience turning designs and product requirements into products people love and use every day.
• Exceptional at frontend development, including React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and relevant frameworks/libraries within the Javascript ecosystem.
• Startup experience with a proven ability to drive features home on a cross-functional team.
• A pragmatic mindset that focuses on simple paths to delivering value.
• Fullstack experience in backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and MongoDB.
• Impatience for shipping product features to our users.
• Any past experience. Self-taught, bootcamp, degree, founder - we love talent from anywhere.
  
  

You Will

• Within the first 5 days, you'll go through 2 days of industry specific and Motion specific onboarding, pair with a senior dev to set up the codebase, and push your first feature with daily engineering support.
• By 30 days, you'll ramp up on our codebase and start contributing smaller features and bug fixes, with the goal of understanding the breadth of our product.
• In 60 days, you'll collaborate on cross-functional teams to build new features, independently ship product solutions, and help shape the tech stack and roadmap.
• By 90 days and beyond, you’ll tackle unique technical challenges, advocate for process improvements, and drive innovation within the engineering team.
