Educational Program Manager – UNSW Faculty Arts, Design & Architecture

Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the Educational Program Manager plays a lead role within the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture in the planning, development, implementation and reporting of a designated project on mapping skills in a higher education context. This will be achieved through comprehensive stakeholder engagement, skills mapping, and iterative co-design processes, ensuring the development of essential and enduring human capabilities that meet current and future industry and government needs.
The role entails developing project planning documentation, identifying and building appropriate project teams and initiating and overseeing the project, including managing all stakeholder engagement, quality assurance, and reporting. The role reports to the project’s professional lead, ADA Education Excellence and Innovation Manager, and supports the project’s academic lead, ADA Deputy Dean (Education). The role has up to 2 direct reports.

- Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term for 2 years (35-hour week)
- Remuneration Level 8: $123,044 - $138,637 + 17% Superannuation
- Location: Kensington, NSW (the successful candidate will be required to work on campus 3 days a week)

Accountabilities

- Oversee and manage the design and delivery of specialist higher education project and its initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Undertake day-to-day project management, including the development, delivery and evaluation, including project planning/research, engagement, communication, and documentation/reporting.
- Manage adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure projects are managed within a defined, consistent and proven set of rules for project development and implementation.
- Partner with the Project Team and key stakeholders to drive the project, monitor and report on progress; meet milestones, consult, communicate and engage with key stakeholders; and identify problems and propose possible solutions.
- Work with the Project Team to provide cutting-edge technological and educational development solutions to support the outcomes and deliverables for this project.
- Oversee and deliver effective communications with stakeholders, both internal and external to the project in line with project deliverables.
- Development and implementation of systems, procedures and programs within closely defined objectives to ensure project can be delivered at scale after project completion.
- Advise on the establishment of local priorities, programs and/or budgets as part of this large-scale specialised project.

- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
- Evidence of success in establishing, cultivating and maintaining high level relationships.
- Ability to adopt a business development approach to identify new and emerging opportunities in higher education and related educational innovations in the short and long term.
- Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
- Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
